Republican Party Platform 2008 Read between the lines and notice what is not there. For example, notice how social security "reform" will include the "opportunity" to "freely choose personal savings accounts." To see what the national party knows better than to say openly, look at the Texas Republican Party platform.
Texas Republican Party Platform, 2008 There are a few ideas Democrats agree with, and some we think address real issues but in a way that will not work. There are also ideas that attack fundamental American values like the right to a fair trial and the whole common-law system of law developing through precedent, separation of religion from government, and the obligation to provide public education with a fact-based, practical, curriculum. And there are many ideas that seem to address issues or problems that are are either very seriously misunderstood or not real at all.
Texas Republican Party Platform 2004 You can only read the preamble on the web. For the rest, which is where the really strange stuff is, you have to download it.
Compare the above with the Republican platform of 1872
