At the behest of our President, Organizing for America and volunteers across the nation are holding community service events on Saturday, June 27th with a focus on Healthcare and giving back to your community. OCC and volunteers from Collin County will be holding a Health Fair, with clinicians, social services, nutritional and informative handouts for services in the Collin Community for our needy, for them to obtain basic healthcare check ups, provide immunization guidelines, and allow them to sign up for federal programs that they are eligible for based on income such as WIC and CHIPS. Volunteers are needed throughout the day; core service hours are 9 - 2 with setup beginning at 7:15 and breakdown at 3:00.
Volunteers and Deputy Registras are needed to help in this effort. Due to the heat we would like to rotate out every 2 hours. Service hours are from 9 -2 with set up at 7:15 and breakdown at 3.

If you are unable to volunteer but would still like to donate to this National Day of service, consider "adopting" a neighbor that does not have Healthcare. A $30 donation to one of our Non profit agencies in Collin County goes a long way. For more information go to

House Parties were successfully held across Collin County on June 6 to plan for a national day of service for Health Care. The Health Care National Day of Service is planned for June 27 at an event in Collin County. If you are interested in having an event or attending an event, sign up by clicking here.
===================================
June 6th is the National Healthcare kickoff, with events being held around the country and the state. The focus for the kickoff is house parties - the events can be any day from June 3rd to June 10th. The events themselves should be small 10-15 people. Please help kick off this important agenda item by hosting a house party. The host DOES NOT need to be a Healthcare policy expert. These events are about planning a Healthcare community service action on June 27th and June 28th. It is about learning the stories of people that have dealt with the hardships of our current health care system.
President Obama wants to:
A lot of people have responded to the email that our President sent out, interested in attending or hosting parties. It’s time to get back to work and help President Obama do what we said we would do, be his grass roots support here in Collin County, in Texas, and across the U.S.
