May 26, 2009: Legislative Update
The TxDot Sunset Bill (transportation bill) passed the Senate last night, but not without reservations from both Democrats and some Republicans. The bill will now go to conference committee. The conference committee has over 170 differences to resolve between the House bill and the Senate bill. A bit of chaos in this really bad bill.
SB 362 (Voter ID bill) is on the calendar in the House today. It is on page 17 of 34. Don't know by the way things are going if it will actually make it to the floor. With Rep. Kuempel (R) in the hospital, there is only 1 vote difference in the house.
