*** SB 541 Action Alert ***

~~~ Last chance for clean energy.  ~~~
Hello Folks,
This Sunday is the deadline in the Texas State Legislature for the House to schedule bills that started in the Senate.
The Senate non-wind RPS bill, SB 541, has been passed by the house state affairs committee and is waiting to be scheduled to come to the floor.  If you live in Rep. Brian McCall's district you can help.
McCall is chairman of the house Calendar's committee which will decide which bills come up for and in what order.
Please call Rep. McCall at 512-463-0594 and ask him to place SB 541 on the Major State Calendar for floor action. Make sure you identify yourself as a constituent.
[If you're not sure you are in his district, click on http://www.legis.state.tx.us. Type in your address and zip in the “Who Represents Me?” form.]
Senate Bill 541 by Senator Watson and Representative Farabee in the House, establishes a goal of 1500 megawatts of solar, small scale wind, geothermal, and biomass energy by the year 2020.
This bill will diversify our clean energy portfolio and complement our already strong wind energy component. Passing SB 541 will tell folks Texas is serious about taking the lead in clean renewable energy.
