The senate passed the voter ID bill and it has been sent to the house. Rep. Smith, chairman of the elections committee, has indicated that he may not bring this bill up in the house until early to mid April.
Rep. Smith also indicated that he is considering having a two day hearing. The first for invited testimony and the second for public testimony.
Soooo, we will have to be ready to "blitz" this committee again with phone calls, e-mails, etc. Also, if you live near Austin or can make the hearing, have a good 3 min. talk ready and have 30 copies for the clerk. We need to stop this bill in the House !!!!
