A voter ID bill, HB 125 authored by Betty Brown of Terrell, has been sent to the Elections Committee. There will be more to come during this session.

 
Under the current election code, the HAVA Act (Help America Vote Act) new voters are required to provide a voter ID.  Also with people who are getting /renewing or change of address through DPS are registered to vote via DPS.
There is no need for additional voter restrictions.

 
Please contact the Elections committee and let them know you do not support any Voter ID bill.
